Virtual Electro Mobility Tutorial

Grid Integration of Electric Vehicles: Status and Experiences

On Monday, 2 November 2020, prior to the start of the Electro Mobility Symposium, a tutorial will be held by Energynautics on Grid integration of electric vehicles: Status and Experiences.

High share of electric vehicles can only be achieved if the electricity grid is considered as well. Within this tutorial technical solutions and practical experiences are presented and discussed.

The aim is to provide the participants with the necessary understanding on all relevant grid integration aspects related to electro mobility. A large focus will be on the practical use of smart charging and vehicle to grid to ensure safe grid operation, even when integrating renewable energy. For more information see the preliminary program below.

Form of presentation

The E-Mobility Tutorial will be held online. Please log into the conference room at least 5 minutes before the start of each session to avoid potential connection issues. It is requested that the participants mute their microphones during the session unless addressing the speakers.

Schedule

Date: 2 November 2020

The tutorial will be separated into two sessions of 1.5 hours length with a 30-minute break between sessions. The presentation will contain several sections to address individual questions in a timely manner. Afterwards at least 15 minutes will be available for additional discussions.

3:00 pm – 6:30 pm (Central European Time)
(09:00 New York // 11:00 Rio de Janeiro // 14:00 London // 19:30 New Delhi // 22:00 Peking // 23:00 Tokio)

  • Session 1: Electric Vehicle Charging Aspects
The first session will introduce all aspects related to electric vehicle charging. The participants will gain an insight understanding on the electric vehicle charging process, before considering the grid impact in session 2.
  • Session 2: Grid Impact Aspects
Based on the developed understanding of session one the participants will develop a comprehensive understanding on grid related aspects of electric vehicle charging and how smart charging and vehicle to grid schemes can support the energy transition towards a fossil free economy, while staying within the grid constraints.
